Applying Eye Shadows

The eye shadows have the role of giving a certain color to your eye lids, emphasizing the positive traits of the eyes at the same time. Applying eye shadows is a technique that needs to be mastered if you want to use the eye shadows in your favor.

After having applied your eye liner, the eye shadow is next. The eye shadow is pretty important as it establishes the way your eyes will be perceived. The eye make up and especially the eye shadows will be applied very carefully, so as to avoid the eyes. When doing your make up, you can use one, two or several eye shadows, in case you want something more sophisticated. When applying eye shadows you have to start from the inner part of the eye lids and go towards the arcades. The eye shadows will have to follow the line of the eye liner. Towards the arcades, it is recommended that you apply two lighter shades of the same color you use as basic eye shadows. Combining two or more eye shadows perfectly means that they will merge, so it is essential that the eye shadows you employ to have about the same texture. On the lower eyelids, you can also place a bit of eye shadows, but these have to be discreet and match with the nuances used when applying eye shadows on the upper lids. The lower lid eye shadows may be one nuance lighter than the color used for the upper lid, or it may be even white, which will give an extra glamour to your look.

The colors of the eye shadows should be carefully chosen. First of all, you have to take into account the color of your eyes. For example, the brown eyes will go well with natural colors such as brown, ochre, even yellow, or contrasting with grey, blue or violet. On the other hand, the blue eyes will go well with different shades of grey, white or contrasting with pink and orange. The green eyes are excellently emphasized by mauve eye make up, or also grey and different shades of green. Also, when doing your eye make up, you have to take into account the trendy colors. For 2008, the dark grey is highly fashionable, and will go with just about any eyes color.
It’s also recommended that the colors of the eye shadows are not the ones that are predominant in your dress or the clothes that you wear.

Last but not least, don’t forget to clean your face when you call it a day, the cosmetics can do a lot of damage to your skin (i.e. premature aging), plus when the eye shadows get in your eyes they may have an allergic reaction.
