Is having a firmly shaped six pack abs your fitness target for this year? There are many people who start to do something to workout their abs and become slimmer and sexier, but why so many exercises seem not to work out?
A flat stomach is a sign of physical beauty. Having a fit mid section can compensate having larger buttocks or other physical defects, so why not work on your abs more and shape it up? Doing some abs workout on a regular basis is not a guarantee that you get where you want and can show off your six packs. You have to know how to perform your ab workouts and when to do so.
So, how to make the ab workouts efficient? First of all, don’t do only ab exercises- they will never work this way. Instead, include your ab workouts in a series of resistance exercises and you are on your way to the dreamed six packs. Doing some resistance exercises will increase your heart rate, will put your blood into motions and consequently you will sweat and lose fat also. So, a short warm up is compulsory when it comes to ab workout. Otherwise your ab workout will be inefficient. Your warm up should be a bit of stretching then running or jumping or aerobics- which will increase your heart rate, then you can go for the hard stuff- crunches, sit ups and your regular routine or ab workouts. Make sure that you do a constant and gradual progress in the number of reps of ab workouts. If you are a beginner, take it easy, you have enough time to get to a larger number of sit ups in time.
Also, forget about the myths of building up your six packs in a few days or weeks tops. The abs workout should help you improve your looks and the results depend on the amount of fat you have to burn and the way your metabolism works. You will also have to know that if you have a lot of belly fat round your abs, the first few inches will go away very quickly, while having just a bit of fat will make your task very difficult and the results may or may not appear. You have to know that sometimes you lose all your fat from your body, but there are still a few pounds round your waist that won’t go away- this issue cannot be solved with exercise, but you will be the perfect candidate for a plastic surgery intervention, in case it bothers you that much.
And remember, once you’ve started the ab workouts, the results should show in about two months tops, if they don’t you must work on your technique and revise the things you do wrong. You can have a nice abs too, so make sure you do your ab workouts properly.
